2006 South Goliad Street
Rockwall, TX 75087
On a Wednesday, the Love Your Dinner (and lunch) crew ate a very enjoyable meal at a small Thai restaurant in Rockwall, TX. If you are familiar with the area, you might be saying to yourself, "A Thai restaurant in Rockwall???...". We said this to ourselves as well, surprised that such a city as Rockwall could venture out into the food world further than chain Mexican or covered-in-mozzarella-cheese Italian... And as our waiter told us, it is less than a year-old establishment, and establish itself, it did! We not only thought the food was very tasty, it was also a delightful place to spend your lunch hour. We are just ecstatic that a place like this could open right down the street from our homes!
We each tasted different meals on the lunch menu and came to an all-around consensus that not only did it satisfy our hunger needs, it also met every other aspect of what we consider to be a successful eating journey. (And believe you me, our bellies and our feet have traveled many miles for a good meal. However, not to Thailand YET, but perhaps one day...) The soft music in the background relaxed our bodies as we stretched our stomachs. We started off with the "Angel Wing Appetizer" that was advertised at our table. The waiter, whom never left our water glasses empty, assured us that the Hot and Sour Soup of the Day was well worth a try. It definitely delivered its namesake, while not being too hot or sour. We each sampled the self proclaimed "Amazing" dish with combination beef and pork (a thick and spicy peanut sauce), the "Green Curry" with chicken (light with a lot of flavor and fragrance), and the "Sweet and Sour" dish with chicken (light and spicy with a lot of veggies).
Each meal came with steamed rice, a crispy eggroll, and the most adorable carrot cut-out. One plate was adorned with a butterfly, one with a heart, and the last with a flower. They were edible and simply added a unique touch to the restaurant's ambiance and charm. None of the dishes were too spicy for our tastes (but we are from Texas!). There was also a small sushi bar from which we did not sample anything, so we'll definitely have to go back for another round soon!
